- First Aid qualification: Valid in accordance with organisation providing certification
For leaders regularly involved in practice sessions involving U18s:
- DBS check: Valid per DBS guidelines
- Safeguarding/Welfare: Valid in accordance with organisation providing certification
Independent Coaches who are not Club Members, and acting independently as a coach:
- All of the above qualifications required by Leader
- Relevant Coaching Qualifications (e.g. Volleyball England Level 2)
- Affiliation with Volleyball England, which includes insurance

- Slips, trips, Collisions
|
Injury from:
- Slips, trips and falls.
- Wet floor
- Collision with opponents, equipment or building fabric (doors, walls)
- Falling lights or overhead equipment.
- Equipment faulty /wrongly installed or set up.
- Hit by projectile / ball.
- Trapped in or under equipment, inappropriate or incorrect use of equipment.
- Fall from height (i.e. Trampolining/Umpiring).

- Daily and weekly programmed cleaning of floor surfaces by School. Programmed and preventative maintenance and inspection regimes by School.
- Playing areas comply with National Governing Bodies required dimensions.
- Leaders visually inspect hall prior to beginning activity.
- Leaders attending session have a current First Aid qualification.
- Attendees are pre-selected by ability prior to attending.
- Leaders attending only suggest content within the abilities of the attendees and their own ability.
- Leaders have access to emergency contact details of attendees.
- Code of Conduct is agreed by all attendees when joining the Club.

- Portable Equipment Faults
|
- Collision, struck by equipment during play, equipment failure,
- Hit by falling equipment, trapped in or under equipment. E.g. by posts, Curtain, Benches, Personal belongings

- Inventory of all equipment, detailing current
condition and likely replacement dates.
- Frequent visual inspections of all equipment.
- Leaders trained in correct set up, use, movement and storage of all equipment in accordance with activity instruction sheets.
- Curtain is drawn to divide session, as applicable, and only after training / demonstration.
- Benches are moved to the prior to any practices commencing.
- Personal belongings are stored behind the benches.

- Equipment Cupboard
|
- Falling equipment, collapse, stacking too high and toppling loads. , trapped in or under equipment;
- Collision with ceiling due to ceiling height restriction.
- Falling from height.
- Large number entering
- Unauthorised participants entering.

- All storerooms have designated areas for equipment. These are adhered to.
- Equipment put away in line with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Storerooms inspected by the school. Leaders to report faults to the school.
- Only leaders, or authorised members, should enter the equipment cupboard to collect equipment and then close the door.
- Equipment cupboard is locked by the leader

- Keys

- Loss of keys
- Sports Hall not locked following use (St. Albans)
- Alarm not set correctly

- Only authorised leaders should handle keys.
- Leaders are authorised by the Head Coach and Executive Committee.
- Location of the keys should be recorded at all times.
- Leader is responsible for locking the cupboard, sports hall, toilets, fire door and main door.
- Leader is responsible for setting the alarm.
- Leaders trained on proper use of keys and correct procedure for securing the school.

- Leaders have access to emergency contact details of attendees.
